Urgent prayer for Len Brookes, European Office Manager
Health update - 5 July 2010
Dear praying friends,
As you may know I finished my fifth session of chemo therapy almost 2 weeks ago and last Friday I had 2 scans at the hospital.
We have heard today that the scans show a shrinking of the cancer tumours in the stomach and the lungs. The doctors believe that the cancer cells have been eliminated but at this stage it is uncertain. I am of course believing that all the cancer cells will indeed have been eliminated.
The next stage is surgery within the next four weeks followed by a further scan.
Please pray that the healing process will continue.
The Bible says ‘He who has begun a good work in you will complete it in the day of Christ Jesus’ ( Phil. 1v6)
I am feeling better physically than just before I started the chemo therapy, as I am eating better and have been able to regain some of the weight that I had lost. I am hoping to continue normal duties as before this illness, as time goes on.
I join with the Apostle Paul in saying ‘I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Phil. 3v14)
Thank you for standing with me in prayer at this time.
May the Lord bless you.
Len Brookes

Health update - Len Brookes
11 June

Dear Friends in Christ,
I finished my fourth session of chemotherapy lasting 6 days at the end of last week. My body is again weak as the blood cells have largely been destroyed. It usually takes a couple of weeks to build them up again.
I expect to go back to hospital again next week for another session of chemotherapy lasting 6 days. This should be followed by a body scan to assess the progress of the treatment.
This cancer has ofcourse had a big impact on my life but I believe it has brought me closer to the Lord and I look to Him for healing.
The Bible says in Psalm 91v14 'because he cleaves to me in love I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name.
Thank you for your continued prayers for me.
Your brother in Christ,
Len Brookes

Health update – Len Brookes
16 May 2010

I am back home after my third chemotherapy session, which lasted six days. I am now just over half way in the treatment cycle.
I find the therapy heavy on my body and it leaves me weak. My red and white blood cells are almost completely wiped out and I need to build them up again. This normally takes a number of days. Each day I take medication including injections to thin my blood.
A scan prior to this last session of therapy showed a shrinking of the tumours (when I started I had one tumour measuring 15x10 cms. in my stomach). My lungs seem to be freer than previously and I can breathe more easily.
I thank God for these signs of improvement.
Normally I go back to the hospital on May 28 for a further six days of chemotherapy treatment.
Thank you for bringing me before the Lord in prayer. I look forward to the day when the doctors say the cancer cells are gone from my body. I know the timing of this is in God’s hands but I believe it will happen.
Isaiah 40 v. 31 those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
May the Lord bless you all.
Your brother in Christ,
Len

Health update Len
25 April 2010

Dear Friends,
Here is my latest health update. I came home from hospital last Wednesday evening after having chemotherapy for almost one week. The chemo sessions this time were heavier than the first session and I was unwell for two or three days. Since coming out of the hospital it has also taken a few days to recover from the treatment. I felt very weak but I have been happy to be back at home and to sleep in my own bed. My white blood cells were low after the treatment which leaves me open to infection so I pray for God’s protection at this time. A positive thing is that I have not lost as much weight as I did after the first chemotherapy session. At the moment I have shortage of breath and I have lost most of my hair. However I believe the healing process is continuing (thank God).
Normally I expect to return to the hospital on May 7 for the third session of chemotherapy. Either before the chemo or after, the doctors plan to make a scan of the cancer tumours in my stomach and lungs. Please pray that these are getting smaller or will disappear completely.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for praying for me and to people that have sent messages via e-mail and cards; these have been a real encouragement for me.
Both Lydia and I believe that with the help of the Lord we will defeat this cancer and Jesus will be glorified through all of this.
May the Lord be with you and bless you all.
Your brother in Christ,
Len Brookes

Health – Len Brookes
Update: 12 April 2010

I went to the hospital last Thursday for a blood check. I was told that the calcium levels have come down and my kidneys are functioning normally. (thank God). My white blood cells are at a low level (which leaves me open to infections).
My body weight went down significantly after the first chemotherapy treatment but it is building up again day by day.
I have been at home the last couple of weeks and though feeling weaker than before the treatment I am trying to live as normal. I have medication each day including injections to thin my blood.

I go to the hospital again this week Friday for further chemotherapy, unless of course a miracle occurs in the meantime and the cancer cells have gone.
If I undertake the chemotherapy I will be in the hospital for six days. If this goes ahead please pray that my body can withstand the treatment (no vomiting or headaches etc.)

I have been humbled by the prayer support from so many people around the world. I even got a phone call from a pastor in the USA (who I do not know) who prayed for me over the phone.
I believe God will do a miracle and heal me.
I thank you for your love and support for me and my family at this time.

Matt. 19 v 26. …with God all things are possible.
Your brother in Christ,
Len

Dear friends in Christ,
As you probably know I have been diagnosed with testis cancer and this has spread to my stomach and lungs. This was of course a big shock to me and my family.
For the past three weeks I have been in hospital here in Leuven undergoing tests including 2 operations to find the origin of the cancer cells and how far they have spread in my body.
I have already undergone chemotherapy treatment, over several days, and have now been sent home to recuperate before the next session in about three weeks time. I have come through these 4 sessions of chemotherapy well (no sickness), unlike many other patients I have seen on my ward; for this I thank God. Whilst at home Lydia is giving me injections and making sure I take the prescribed tablets.
I thank the Lord for the prayer support of you all, and of course I thank my family and church. Lydia and I are staying positive and looking to the Lord for complete healing, as we know the doctors can only do so much. We are speaking out the word of God every day and letting the sweet presence of the Lord fill our hearts in a new and fresh way.
I send my love and greetings to all and thank you again for standing with me in this time of spiritual warfare.
God is good, all the time.
Your brother in Christ,
Len

Bob Bignold
Update on Bob Bignold – 30 March
Dear faithful servants of God,
Bob is now home healing and discovering food again! His dog, Kacha, is at his side all the time, so he has two blonds again.
There is no way to fully thank you for holding up our arms during this trial/test to see God fulfill His WORD in a mighty way!
These last 10 days you came into agreement, in love - the place of power & presence of Jesus; presented His WORD in His throne room (which never returns void); were not shaken by evil reports but stood firm by the Holy Spirit; and helped us to face the opportunity to know the presence of the Holy Spirit and God’s call upon us to be fulfilled.
I can personally testify that your intercession and the presence of the Holy Spirit at this time provided me strength, peace, and a sound mind even as I watched what looked like total destruction. Thank you from a grateful wife who passionately loves her husband and still needs him.
Barbara B.

Faithful intercessors, please pray for our dear brother Bob Bignold.
I received a call from Barbara Bignold this morning- Bob did not have a good night at the hospital and he is being taken in for surgery right away (3/17/10).
Faithful Intercessors- Please pray for a quick and complete recovery as the Lord uses the medical people for His glory, in the name of Jesus.

Update
This just in (4:10 pm CDST March 17)- Barbara called to say the surgery went very well, doctors were able to stop the bleeding and the prognosis is excellent. While Bob is presently in ICU, he will be transferred to a regular room soon and expected to be released within 3-4 days.
Hallelujah!!!! Our God reigns!
We thank you Lord for the magnificent work of Your hands. We continue to lift Bob before the Throne of Grace, in the name of Jesus.

Ireland - personal prayer and prayer for the convention in 2010
Hi Len,
Thank you for asking how I am keeping. According to the medical people I am not in good shape with my heart; they say that unless I have another heart operation, which they are reluctant to do, I might die, and if I do have one I might also die. I am trusting God for total healing.
'For us death has no sting ', so why should we be anxious? .
We are making slow progress in getting a suitable hotel in Dublin for the European Convention. Most are asking high prices and some are asking for €4,000 up front. There have been so many hotels going bankrupt; with once having been the “Celtic Tiger” as they called it with lots of money pouring in from Europe, to the present financial disaster .It is hitting the South of Ireland much more. We are trying to check out which hotel is likely to go bankrupt before we make any decision. The dreadful thought of people having paid deposits and the Hotel being closed before we get there is something that we are terrified of happening. We know of one Hotel which is now owned by the Irish Banks so we are in the process of trying to get something arranged with them.
May He Bless you and keep you!
Love,
John Gates, National Director Ireland

Langley Chapter, BC Canada
Greetings people of Faith,
Things must be happening in the Spiritual realm regarding our chapter in Langley, BC Canada;

1) 2 salvations and 5 rededications in the last two weeks in our meetings, 5 new people coming in per week from our outreach programs
2) last week a man tried to disturb our chapter meeting
3) a man came to complain ( critical spirit ) about how we run our chapter and our outreach advertising program
4) our Voice magazine testimonies have been distributed to every one of the 52,000 residences in Langley, Aldergrove, Fort Langley and parts of Cloverdale.
5) someone on Friday night, carved with a knife 666 on our front door and a demonic symbol was left in our garage. Someone must have a lot of anger in them to deeply carve 666 in a persons front door. My wife Eva is very upset.

Please keep us and the Langley chapter in your prayers,

Blessings,
Dennis Spenst - FGBMFI - President - Langley Chapter

Prayer focus: Myanmar and China
Tens of thousands of people lost their lives and many more lost their houses and means of existence during the recent cyclone in Myanmar (Birma) and the earthquake in China. Let's focus our prayers this week on the various relief efforts, that these will effectively reach those in need. Also pray for the (persecuted) Church in these nations, that Christians will rise up to the occasion, minister God's compassion and advance the Kingdom of God.

Urgent Prayer request for Ramzi and family
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On March 23rd, a Muslim convert (to Christianity 10 years) Ramzi and his family were physically attacked by extended family members due to the conversion of Ramzi's brother Ahmad (converted 2 years ago) and wife (5 months). Ramzi's wife and 9-year old son were beaten and went to hospital for treatment. Ramzi was taken before the Sharia court and was sentenced for a week. He asked to be taken to a hospital but instead he was cuffed and sent to jail. As soon as he arrived in prison he collapsed, was taken to hospital and handcuffed to his bed. The brothers of Ramzi's sister-in-law, not only attacked him and Ahmad, but also KIDNAPPED the sister-in-law. They did not know where she was but suspected she was being forcibly kept at her parent's house.

The father of Ramzi and Ahmed filed a lawsuit against them the same day for renouncing Islam and asked for custody of their four children. Ahmad and his wife were later taken to Sharia court and under duress they said the two Shahadas. Which means they were forced to go back to Islam. Since then, Ramzi was taken to prison and has now been released on a $14,000 bail, pending the Sharia court case which has now been set for Sunday 30th March. If found guilty of apostasy, moreover, Ramzi could face ANY or ALL of the following incredibly severe & unjust punishments which has precedence in other similar cases of apostasy:

1. Ramzi's children could be taken away from him and become under State custody.
2. The marriage will be annulled.
3. He will loose their civil status.
4. Ramzi can be sent to mental hospitals for examination and would be declared insane.

We know that the Jordanian Government is keen to keep up appearances with the US Government. Jordan wishes itself to be seen as an oasis of freedom and democracy.
Ramzi has given permission to let his case be known.
Pray for these brothers and sisters and their families.
Pray for wisdom for those helping to know how best to deal with this case.
Pray for the church in Jordan, that it would have boldness and wisdom.
For the cause that counts,
Marwan and Inge
